    Job Description

    Senior Non-Commissioned Investigator

    Division of Workers’ Compensation / Fraud and Noncompliance Unit

    Annual Salary: $52,077

    Job Location: Currently located in St. Charles, Missouri (3737 S Truman Blvd #300, St. Charles, MO 63301). Planned move to Chesterfield, Missouri (1390 Timberlake Manor Parkway, Chesterfield, MO 63017) in July 2025.

    Why you will love this position:

    We are a small investigative unit within the Division of Workers’ Compensation responsible for investigating workers’ compensation fraud and noncompliance. Our investigators primarily work independently, but also as members of a cohesive unit. Successful team members are self-motivated and work with minimal supervision. These positions are supported by other unit members working throughout the state. The Fraud and Noncompliance Unit promotes a positive and supportive work environment for our team members. Though these positions are office based (not distributed, remote, or hybrid), some travel is required with the potential for overnight stays.

    What you will do:

    • Conduct investigations of suspected violations and incidents; interviews suspects, victims, and witnesses to obtain evidence; and ensures adherence to chain of custody standards.
    • Locate, interview, and prepare statements from victims, witnesses, and persons suspected of violating statutes, policies and/or procedures, or program requirements administered by the agency.
    • Locate and interview individuals and representatives of business or governmental entities to obtain evidence of suspected violations or diversion efforts.
    • Serve as liaison with staff, law enforcement agencies, prosecuting attorneys' offices, and other governmental entities in the conducting of investigative and surveillance activities.
    • Compile, analyze, evaluate, document and preserve facts, statements, affidavits, and other evidence for use in legal actions; review background investigations; and prepare detailed reports of investigative findings.
    • Examine and analyze a variety of records to secure information concerning suspected violations of laws and/or regulations.
    • Trace funds through banking systems and other institutions and analyze complex financial transactions.
    • Testify in criminal, civil, or administrative hearings.
    • Actively participate in Division and Department programs and initiatives.


    All you need for success:

    Qualifications

    • 6 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study and 2 years of relevant experience


    Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

    Desired Attributes

    • Experience conducting face-to-face suspect and witness interviews and preparing detailed investigative reports.
    • Experience and ability to organize and present information for public or professional programs.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
    • This position requires some travel, including potential overnight stays.
