The Job San Bernardino County is recruiting for
Automated Systems Analyst Trainees who, under training conditions, administer, maintain, and develop computer-based information systems within a county department. Incumbents maintain servers, switches, and desktops; administer local area networks, wide area networks, wired and wireless networks; and may develop and maintain departmental applications, simple databases, websites, and local computerized systems.
Duties may include:- Assists in analyzing, designing, and implementing automated systems to improve departmental operations, including evaluating existing processes and supporting system enhancements.
- Supports the development, installation, configuration, and maintenance of departmental applications, hardware, and network systems (e.g., LAN/WAN environments).
- Coordinates with centralized IT (DIS) and vendors to communicate requirements, evaluate service requests, and assist in system development, upgrades, and implementations.
- Provides technical support and training to staff; helps document systems, establish data control procedures, and monitor ongoing system performance and operations.

PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES! Incumbents in the class of Automated Systems Analyst Trainee are eligible for promotion to Automated Systems Analyst I (Up to $94,203.00 Annually) upon meeting the minimum qualifications for that class and attainment of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbent must qualify for promotion to Automated Systems Analyst I within 24 months or be terminated.

Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet
ONE (1 ) of the Requirement Options in order to qualify.
REQUIREMENT OPTION 1 Experience: Six (6) months of full time equivalent technical experience within the last two (2) years supporting, administering and maintaining Microsoft desktops and/or servers, department software applications, and network infrastructure in a professionally administered network.
- - AND - -Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited college, university or technical school in Information Technology, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field -OR- completion of at least one fundamental Microsoft Certification ; Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification; or CompTIA certification (A+, N+ or S+).
REQUIREMENT OPTION 2 Experience: Eighteen (18) months of full time equivalent technical experience within the last two (2) years supporting, administering and maintaining Microsoft desktops and/or servers, department software applications, and network infrastructure in a professionally administered network.
REQUIREMENT OPTION 3 Experience: Current PSE/WEX/Intern for San Bernardino County performing related duties as qualifying experience. Current San Bernardino County employment MUST be listed in the Work Experience section of the application.
- - AND - -Education: A completed associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Public Administration, or closely related field. Equivalent coursework will be accepted. Coursework must be listed in the Supplemental Questionnaire or transcripts may be attached to the application.
