Tax Season Assistant - Business Tax (Temporary)

Hourly Salary: $ 16.84
Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
Our team focuses on processing motor fuel tax refund claims and documents in a timely manner. We are team oriented, goal driven, and value strong communication and typing skills, as well as problem solving experience. You will work in a friendly environment with a full-time weekday only work schedule with the possibility of becoming a permanent employee
DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:- Review motor fuel tax refund claims to ensure necessary information is included
- Complete data entry tasks to input refund claim figures and taxpayer information
- Research and error correct motor fuel tax returns to ensure timely processing
- Correspond with both internal and external customers via phone and email correspondence
- Open and sort mail received within the excise tax area
- File and rename file folders and box and label files for archive

QUALIFICATIONS:- Must be at least 16 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Proficient typing and computer skills
