This is a part-time position (two days per week) supporting our accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate will help us uphold our strong commitment to accuracy, transparency, and compliance in financial operations
Under general supervision, and depending on the assigned area, the Accounting Technician performs a variety of financial and administrative duties to support the Agency’s accounting functions. This includes processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, reconciling transactions, assisting with billing and credit card processing, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Accounting Technician plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial data and supporting the overall efficiency of the Finance team.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
The Accounting Technician works under general supervision from the Financial Services Manager or other designated staff within the Finance team. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. This is a non-exempt class series, incumbents will receive supervision regarding leave requests, overtime authorization, and task prioritization.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is an hourly intermittent paraprofessional position. Performs routine to moderately complex accounting tasks requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established financial procedures. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions, maintaining records, and supporting financial reporting. The Accounting Technician is expected to work independently within established guidelines.

Any combination of training and experience that would provide required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying: High school diploma, plus two (2) years of experience processing accounts payable and receivable or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable and can be substituted for one year’s work experience as outlined above.
