Job Summary Under general supervision of the Director- Business & Administrative Services, the incumbent serves as a subject matter expert responsible to coordinate, implement, and support all aspects of enterprise level software systems and website design/content management for Facilities Development and Operations (FD&O). Software system support activities include coordinating software applications/updated with Information Technology, administering a wide variety of source level databases, coordinating access, setup, and security settings with Information Technology in a standardized manner across the department, software system training, administration of storage and backup needs, and network interfacing. Working with FD&O senior leadership, the incumbent also leads efforts associated with modernizing the overall department’s website and ensure content is up to date and reflective of the organization.
Key Responsibilities - Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies, including use of artificial intelligence, to improve the performance and effectiveness of the department
- Tracks and administers all cloud-based software systems including vendor relations, and system and application administration
- Maintain technical currency by keeping skills up to date through training, conferences, reading and collaboration with peer groups
- Develop or assist in developing and/or updating system documentation and process mapping/integration including but not limited to department procedures, process guides, configuration guides, end user training guides, and application specifications
- Develop and conduct periodic training sessions for Department staff and external users to ensure robust knowledge across the department in business system applications including use and application of analytics/reports
- In collaboration with the department’s senior leadership team, continuously develops and maintains all department web sites/pages for all areas within Facilities Development & Operations
- Develops a social media placement/content strategy to complement the department’s website and, upon approval, implements and maintains presence on all channels in a relevant manner
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with relational databases, virtual machines, networking, system integration and disaster recovery
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in various hardware systems such as desktops, Chromebooks, security appliances and barcode scanners
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in business systems implementation/integration with preferred experience with a facilities related and business management related enterprise applications and other operating systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Single Sign On, VLANs, Access Controls, APIs, HTML, XML and SQL
- Working knowledge of data and file structures, database systems and related utilities, operating systems, and communication interface programs
- Ability to understand and analyze complex problems from a future-oriented and broad interactive perspective and readily develop proactive solutions that integrate strategic goals into tactical operations
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the position, and to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the position
- Ability to troubleshoot and implement service delivery improvements and creatively resolve unanticipated challenges which may arise
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to implement a customer (constituent) service approach, with a commitment to high ethical standards and to present work to a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with a diverse group of individuals throughout the organization as well as those outside of the organization who are directly or indirectly involved with projects and/or assignments
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study
- Three years of experience supporting information systems and technology
Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree computer science, technology, business or a related field
- Certification in the administration of database systems
- Four years progressively responsible administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs
- Experience in support and maintenance of facility or business management related applications and databases including but not limited to those used for inventory, security, facilities information, and workflow automation
- Experience managing complex datasets and providing highly analytical reports and action plans based on such information
- Experience developing processes, procedures, and guidelines to organize, implement, and administer complex programs, projects, and initiatives
- Experience working for a State agency, College or University, or other large-scale business such as a corporate campus

Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,914/month - $7,593/month
CSU Salary Range: $5,158/month - $12,730/month
