This position will be located at St. Joe State Park, 2800 Pimville Road, Park Hills MO 63601. Work shifts will vary according to facility demands and will include working weekends and holidays. This position works a (4) 10-hour day work week.
- Assist in directing the overall operation and maintenance of St. Joe State Park, including campground, day use areas, trail network, maintenance and repair projects, visitor service functions, Off Road Vehicle area. This position also assists with large scale environmental management projects.
- Act in the absence of the Park Superintendent and independently make sound decisions and direct staff as needed.
- Oversees the work and behavior of various seasonal, volunteer, and full-time staff, including the ability to mentor and coach staff.
- Assist with administrative functions including: annual budget requests, tracking and managing budget allocations, project recommendations, bidding and purchasing materials and services, and revenue management.
- Participate in planning and directing natural or cultural history interpretation, resource management and research for St. Joe State Park.
- Assist with various resource stewardship activities.
- Greet the public and discuss the facility's resources and/or enforces the rules and regulations relating to the state park system.
- Plan and coordinate special events, group outings, and special program requests with a variety of stakeholders.
- Respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, disturbances, natural disasters, and any other significant events within the park.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can include: Park Management, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Natural Sciences, Business of Public Administration or related field AND four or more years of management, supervision and participation in interpretation, preservation, protection, maintenance and enhancement of state parks and historic sites (substitutions may be allowed)
- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.

- Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts. Must work a maximum of two weekends per month throughout the year.
- Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays
- Must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and have the ability to lift 25 pounds
