The JobSan Bernardino County is recruiting for
Maintenance Coordinators with experience providing hands-on commercial building maintenance, repairs, and project administration.
Essential Duties Include: - Performs project management for minor remodeling projects. Coordinates capital improvement projects with other County departments and contractors.
- Inspects facilities for necessary repairs. Coordinates routine maintenance and monitors systems to identify those that need replacement.
- Responds to requests for maintenance to determine action needed. Coordinates maintenance with County Facilities Management or vendors and follows up to ensure repairs are completed.
- Contacts vendors and contractors to secure bids for work or materials; reviews bids and selects a contractor; follows up with contractors to ascertain completion of work and audits monthly charges.
- Conducts job walks with County Facilities Management and custodial/landscaping vendors to maintain and monitor performance of contracted duties.
- Travels between office locations to coordinate repairs, relocation of assets, and surplus pick-ups.
- Assists with implementing recommendations for ergonomic assessments conducted by County Risk Management or vendor.
- Coordinates window and floor cleaning with vendors procured by the County’s Custodial Division.
- Monitors building security personnel, ensuring adherence to County security service terms and conditions.
- Coordinates security systems with department IT Unit when after-hours maintenance/repair work is needed.
- Monitors and maintains department radio system with the County’s Radio Shop.
- Ensures all facilities are in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations; provides oversight of building safety programs, including emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and routine safety inspections.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 1) A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance.
2) May require frequent climbing, kneeling, crawling, lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds, and work on rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces.
3) After hours,weekend and on-call work may be required.

Minimum RequirementsMust possess two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience coordinating and/or performing maintenance and repair of commercial buildings, including managing/coordinating maintenance projects that involved some experience with duties such as obtaining bids, scheduling contractors, administering contracts, and/or following up on work progress.
Note: Residential building experience is not considered qualifying. Desired QualificationsCandidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with other departments, contractors, and departmental staff.
