Full-time position available with the Convention & Entertainment Facilities Department, Event Support Division located at 301 West 13th Street
Salary Range: $17.35-$26.47/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 2:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Responsibilities
- Performs setup and teardown duties for events in auditoriums, meeting rooms, conference centers, banquet halls, exhibit spaces, performing arts venues, and arena facilities.
- Performs Set up and break down furniture, staging, equipment, and other materials for a wide variety of events and functions.
- Ensures facility cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and maintaining public sidewalks and entrance areas.
- Completes work orders efficiently, often requiring repetitive bending, heavy lifting, walking, and kneeling.
- Assist and guide temporary or less-experienced workers by conveying moderately technical instructions as needed.
- Follows detailed instructions from supervisors and ensure that work aligns with expectations and standards.
- Reports progress and issues during tasks to supervisors and collaborate with other staff for timely project completion.
Qualifications
REQUIRES 6 months of experience in custodial or related maintenance work or general laboring work. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
