Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience in diagnostics, repair, testing, maintenance, or installation of equipment and systems, including two (2) years of experience which were in the Aviation industry.
Licenses or Certifications: Valid State of Texas Class C Driver License.
Notes to Applicants
Perform tasks in the repair, maintenance, and installation of the AUS campus life safety and security systems, to include fire alarm and suppression, fire extinguishers, public address, CCTV , proximity card readers and security doors and hardware.
Assist with the review and oversight of security and life safety work that is performed by tenants, contractors, and consultants.
Provides assistance and input as the subject matter expert ( SME )for all AUS construction projects.
Installs, troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment.
Researches and orders electronic components and maintain parts inventory.
Maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various electronic systems and system components.
Maintain technical files and associate inspections and discrepancy records for all campus life safety systems.
Test electronic components and circuits to locate defects, using oscilloscope signal generators, ammeters and voltmeters.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA .
ASSESSMENT A skills assessment will be required for this position.
ON- CALL / CALL BACK RESPONSIBILITIES Position may require on-call or call back responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL This position is categorized as an Essential Personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and in some cases when they are not scheduled.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.Coordinates, plans, organizes, and leads crews in the completion of assigned work orders including making materials ready, performing quality inspections, preparing system outage requests, preparing as-built mark-up, and other tasks as necessary. Performs field and facility investigations and inspections to ensure maintenance, construction, and repairs activities comply with all governing bodies and jurisdictions having authority, and to assess necessary routine and preventative maintenance needs. Tracks and requests needed trade and construction permits to ensure proper agencies are notified of all construction and maintenance activities. Liaises between the Department of Aviation ( DOA ) maintenance divisions and AUS stakeholders on maintenance activities and requests. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, City, and Local regulation, policies, procedures, and ordinances. Monitors budget and ensures maintenance parts are within established budgetary goals; assists with budget preparation and forecasting. Communicates with leadership regarding work order planning and status and other issues as needed. Assists in monitoring Asset Management System ( AMS ), providing quality assurance review of maintenance and repair activities, and updates the work order database. Assists with performing contract and procurement duties. Recommends major purchases and expenditures; develops specifications for product price and services; monitors contracts and contractor compliance; assists with developing and requisitioning of replacement parts; and assists management in the process of purchasing and retiring surplus capital equipment. Calculates figures and compiles data and information for reports, cost estimates, and asset life cycle.
